State Congress government issued order withholding development grants for Hindu temples
The state government has issued a stay order with immediate effect on the grants given to the restoration of Hindu temples. This has led to the outrage of Hindu organizations including opposition parties.
The Department of Religious Endowments has issued an order stopping the release of temple renovation grant by mentioning three issues.
The religious endowment department has instructed in the order not to release the money if the temple renovation work has not yet started.
If the administrative approval has been given for the release of 50% of the funds, it has been instructed to stop it immediately and not to release the grant.
